Our take
I tried the Walter Hagen Varsity set – it's a complete starter pack. The driver and woods are forgiving, and the hybrids replace long irons well. The blade irons are decent but not ultra-forgiving. The putter is basic. Shafts mix graphite (woods) and steel (irons), which works. At $129.99, it's a great deal for a beginner looking for one bag to hit the course. Experienced players may want upgrades.
